Whether out of intent or just out of chance, the woman in question was truly had a gift towards making Spider-Man’s ego to shrink away into some pitiful mass. Such a gift would either be received with mass showings of applause, or general rioting in some ego-tripping fantasy world of his. He went to clutch at his heart, as if she had brought about some condition that was triggered by a reality check.

Just when he was about to go through the five stages of over-acting, the awkward scratching stopped him in his tracks. It was just so cute! He was of the mind to treat her like a kitty. In regards to holding her, and patting her, and calling her Schnuffles.

But Schnuffles had a name. And it was a decent name at that. He supposed that ‘Ororo’ was a nice backup name for a kittyperson. He owed her at least some nice greeting. Or a thumbs up. Or some reaction that wasn’t overwhelmingly alien in the context of this greeting. Yeah, that’d be nice.

“I’m Spider-Man, it’s always nice to be met, or do some meeting! What brings you to anytown, USA? I’d imagine that I’m kind of the furthest thing from your mind. Well, second furthest.”

From the way he speaks to the way he’s appraising her, she feels laughter coming on. It bubbles forth, spilling from her full lips like water and before she can help herself, she’s grinning widely. There’s just something endlessly endearing about his rambling and also, to a lesser extent, the fact that he doesn’t know her.

It gives him a chance to form his own opinion on her, rather than base any particular ideas on her off of any preconceived notions. For that, she’s grateful.

"I live here."

And then she’s confused as she tilts her chin, blinking rapidly.

"The second furthest thing?"

Of course, she’s aware that it’s simply a turn of phrase but she’s genuinely confused by it. What else would be further from her mind than the possibility of meeting a masked vigilante?

Danny tilted his head to the side and watched her silently for a moment. She looked like the Ororo he knew, but he had been around enough alternate realities to know that that was an option.

“No, you most certainly are not. However you are Ororo nonetheless, so that means that I still view you the same. Young or old.” He smiled and winked at her. “Danny Rand.”

The moment he’s properly introduced himself, she’s sorting through her thoughts. And then she remembers. Iron Fist. Interesting.

"Is the other Ororo much older than me?"

She can’t help but ask, rosy red darkening her cheeks the moment she’s finished speaking. It simply seems like such a vapid, childish question, and yet she can’t help herself. She just wants to know exactly how he views her. It’s better to be safe than sorry, after all.

She took her hand, a confused look on her face.

“Jubilation Lee. Jubilee… do I, not exist where you’re from?”

From the way she hesitates, Ororo knows she’s said something wrong, or at the very least, something incredibly disconcerting.

Backtracking, she’s laughing nervously as she shakes the other’s hand.

"No. Well… I don’t know you.. yet. But I’m sure we meet."

She’s as awkward as can be as she retracts her hand following the brief shake, shoulders shrugging.

"It’s nice to meet you, though, Jubilee."

Peter pauses because he’s done this before. Poor Clint took it the wrong way and he had to explain the complexities of Multiple universes colliding and time displacements to someone who didn’t entirely get how to decipher Peter Parker code.

He doesn’t lose his smile though because alternate or not Ororo’s always been a favorite of his and he treats everyone nicely from the get go. He does give her a worried and mixed confused expression though.

“Oh crap, sorry, I’m always like this. I mean I know my Ororo—not that she was mine mine—but I guess in a manner of speaking I don’t particularly know you. Per say.” He twitches before righting himself and holding out his hand. “Gah, forget it. I’m Peter Parker, just a friendly stranger, don’t mind me.”

Peter Parker. His real name and not his superhero alias. It surprises her that he speaks of easily, as if she’s some close friend, which, from how he speaks, apparently she is. It’s jolting, nonetheless.

"Don’t apologize."

With a laugh, she reaches out to shake his hand firmly as a shy smile works its way across her lips.

"It’s nice to meet you, Peter. I’m Ororo, as you obviously know."

There’s a moment of hesitation before she drops his hand, sliding her own into her two back pockets as she surveys him with a curious gaze.

"I’m guessing you and the other Ororo are close?"
